Walnut Butter
A simple, savory walnut butter made with just walnuts and optional salt.
2-4 cups
walnuts (frozen or at room temp)
1-2 pinches
salt (optional, to taste)
- Fill the food processor about 70–90% full with walnuts.
- Process, stopping every 1–2 minutes to scrape down the sides as needed.
- Continue processing until desired consistency, about 5–10 minutes total, including stirring time.
• Prep: 10 mins • Total: 10 mins
Makes 1 batch
Walnut butter is not something I make often or consume a lot of, but when stored in a clean glass jar in the fridge, it last a few months as long as it does not get cross-contaminated when in use.

Notes from Craig
Walnut halves or pieces both work well. Walnut butter is good for cooking or spreading on bread, crackers, or celery.
Just a heads-up, it's not uncommon to find a small piece of walnut shell in the walnut butter after processing.
